Resident Of Trial Farm Says His Land Was Taken Away And Given To A UDP Supporter

And talking about land there is another person who is claiming that the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources Honorable Gaspar Vega took away his parcel of land and gave it to a U.D.P supporter. The victim is Vicente Chuc, a resident of the Village of Trail Farm here in the Orange Walk District who claims that he has been paying for his lease since 1977. According to P.U.P Orange Walk North Standard Bearer Jorge Briceno a desperate Chuc visited his office looking for assistance.

“Today a case was brought in front of me for Mr. Vicente Chuc of Trial Farm, he has a land and he pays fourteen fifty an annual rent and this man has been paying for all this time and today I have been informed that his land has been cancelled because Natural Resource decided not to take seven dollars and twenty five cents payment from the owner and decides to give it to Mr. Dino Flores of Trial Farm and I think is an unfair practice, this man has worked this land for over thirty years, I think by the laws of Belize, I think he has homestead and he owns that land right out but here again because of an election coming and because a representative that wants votes he has started to victimize elderly people that can’t defend themselves and these are the things that a government should never do.”
