Mexico Increases Entry Fee At All Borders

| Print | E-mail

Economy

borderAll Foreign Nationals including Belizeans who enter Mexico by air, land or sea and stay more than seven days will now have to pay an additional fee. Previously, the entry fee known as “Derecho De No Immigrante, was at $262 pesos. But the next time you cross the border and plan to stay more than 7 days, you will find yourself paying $294 pesos, which is approximately BZ$45.00.

The good news is that persons who stay less than seven days in Mexico and holders of the FMVL card, who stay less than three days, are exempted from the charge.

Travel agencies and airlines no longer receive the entry payment. Therefore it is suggested that the payment be made in advance at any bank in Mexico. If traveling through the Subteniente Lopez Border the entry fee can be paid at the bank located at the Mexican Customs Compound during normal working hours.
