Education

Screen_shot_2012-02-20_at_8.22On Monday the Concepcion Presbyterian School in the Corozal District heard the roar of concerned parents who were in protest of the school boards recommendation to demote Esther Mendez from her post as principal. As part of their protest, parents opted not to send their children to school. But late yesterday evening when we spoke to President of BNTU Corozal Rural Branch Mario Mesh, he told us that the children were back at school and that Principal Mendez had not been demoted from her post, at least for the time being.

As mentioned on Monday, the schools Board of Directors headed by Ismael Vallejo, issued a letter to the Ministry of Education requesting that Mendez be demoted by the 31st of January on the grounds of insubordination, orchestrating the ousting of the board, lack of proper financial management, promoting division among staff members and obstructing the work of the board.

As a result it was decided that an evaluation would be conducted after which a decision would be made. But with no proof to back up the accusations parents were in total disagreement with both the evaluation and Mendezs demotion.

CTV3 News understands that the Parent Teacher Association of the school will be hosting a meeting on Monday the 27th in attempt to throughout the School Board. We will keep following this story and bring you the details as they unfold.

 It is a shame for so called leaders of the "Presbyterian Church" to be acting in this non-Christian manner. If they had all the love for the Lord as they say they would not engage in such actions. Besides they are nobody to judge since one of them can no longer belong in the education system since he was accused of indescent behavior while a teacher. The others have not been able to keep their children from being murderers as well as drunkards. Take care of ur house before judging others.
