The winner of the fifth annual Belize Woman of the Year Award was announced today by the US Embassy. Taking the esteemed title this year is Senior Superintendent Dezerie Jacklyn Phillips. Philips has been an inspiration and integral part of the Police force here in Belize since her inception in 1985.
Since then Philips has worked her way up the ranks during the course of twenty eight plus years to her current post of Senior Superintendent.
She is currently one of two deputy officers commanding Eastern (Police) Division which is the largest division in the department and her duties and responsibilities are focused primarily on community policing enhancement and administration.
