Corozal Police made three separate drug busts today while conducting patrols around the town. The first persons arrested were Gabino and Gloria Monteroso from the village of Paraiso. Police say that this morning while on patrol in the area of Consejo Shores they intercepted a taxi car occupied by the Monterosos. A search of the vehicle led police to the discovery of a black plastic bag hidden underneath the front passenger seat containing 499 grams of cannabis seeds. The Monterosos were arrested and charged for drug trafficking. No Magistrate was at Court today, so they will remain incarcerated all weekend and because of the holiday on Monday, until Tuesday March 9th.
Two other persons have also been arrested for drug trafficking. They are 44 year old Nimrod Ellis of Ranchito Village and 25 year old Mario Hernandez of Xaibe Village. Both men were arrested and charged for drug trafficking and will appear in court also on Tuesday March 9th.
Forty eight year old Belizean Kerick Ernest was also arrested by Police.
