ms_youngWith the Easter weekend approaching, Belizeans are already making preparations depending on their priorities. Some have plans which include drinking and partying; others will relax with family and friends and many others will take the time to reflect on the religious significance of this time. The United in Christ Evangelical Church in Orange Walk Town has organized a series of events starting off on Thursday night in the village of San Jose.

“Thursday night we will be in San Jose Village we will be doing a movie presentation at 6:30 and then Friday we will be at the Queen Elizabeth Park showing the movie also at 6:30. It is such a good movie that demonstrates the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Sunday morning we will be celebrating our service at 9:30 and then after the service we will be going to La Cova De Iria in Honey Camp where we will be doing Baptism. It is opened to everybody and remember Baptism is not about the religion it is about being baptized in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

But whatever your belief is about the season, Pastor Castillo-Young advises that you take time out to reflect and find solace in religion.

“It is such a good time to reflect and to know and realize that we need Jesus Christ in our lives without him we are nothing um we need to concentrate in our nation look what is happening to our across this nation and it only because families are not applying biblical principles in our lives when I was growing up my mom and dad where there they thought us what it is and how to love Jesus Christ and serve people. Today the people out there are not really serving Christ they are killing and robbing and we need Christ in our lives especially in this season. The message across this Easter Season is Jesus Christ died, buried and is risen and will come again to judge the living and the dead. Make sure that you are right with God and make sure that you spend eternity in heaven.”

United in Christ Evangelical Church is also constructing a kitchen for their Meals on Wheels initiative, which provides a hot lunch for the less fortunate every Thursday.
