For knocking off the rear bumper of a Kia an Orange Walk resident has been summoned to Court. Winsie Baeza of Gravel Lane reported to Police that she parked her green Kia with L/P OWC-01496 at the People’s Choice parking lot on Saturday afternoon. She went inside the store to purchase some goods and then came out and proceeded to drive off the parking lot.

She reported that another vehicle, a white GMC, was also trying to get out and in the process slammed into the rear bumper of the Kia. The driver was identified as Mario Santilla and he promised to take care of the damage he had caused.

Because Mario Santilla refused to keep his word, Baeza decided to take Court action and Santilla appeared today to answer to charges of driving without due care and attention and failing to report an accident.

For the offense of driving without due care and attention, he pled guilty and for the charge of failing to report an accident he pled not guilty. The case was adjourned.
