A broad daylight armed robbery in Corozal Town has left a money and pawn lending institution out of more than $8,000 worth of cash and jewelry. The incident happened at Pay Day Advance sometime before one this afternoon. Details are still sketchy but CTV3 News understands that the female cashier had just returned from lunch when she was approached by two men of dark complexion as she was about to open the door of the establishment.
The men told her to hand over the keys and when she refused one of the individuals placed a gun to her head. Fearing for her life the cashier handed over the keys and the men made their way into the establishment. To keep her from screaming a piece of duct tape was reportedly placed on the cashier’s mouth and her hands were tied. After ransacking the establishment the robbers made off with the money and jewelry. Up to news time no one had been arrested.
