Screen_shot_2011-05-25_at_5.57.49_PMFour residents from the Orange Walk district were involved in a traffic accident on the 22nd of May at around 4:30pm while traveling from Cancun to Playa Del Carmen. Reports coming out of El Diario De Quintana Roo, a Mexican newspaper, indicate that 33 year old Waldir Cuello, his wife Irlanda and two children along with 52 year old Paul Tillett were on the Federal Road close to Puerto Morelos Playa Del Carmen when the van they were traveling in suffered a blowout.

As a result of the blowout, Cuello, who was driving the vehicle, lost control and ran off the road, causing the vehicle to flip over several times. All occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital via ambulance where they received medical treatment. With the exception of Waldir Cuello who suffered a broken pelvic bone all other occupants were released from the hospital with minor injuries.
