The office of the Belize Mail and Packaging Services in Corozal was robbed at gunpoint on Friday afternoon. Employee Sheila Torres told Police that at around 2:00pm while at the business along with Manager Estelita Pratt, two persons entered the establishment.
One of the persons is described as being of dark complexion and the other of Hispanic decent. Torres reports that the dark complexion male approached her and asked her for a package. She told him that there was no such package but the individual did not leave. In fact he took out a gun from his pocket and told her that he did not want to hurt her or the manager, and all they needed to do was hand over the money. Sheila Torres handed over $170 from one purse, $290 from another purse, $125 from a third purse and $700 from the business money. In addition she also handed over her cell phone. The manager Estelita Pratt also handed over her cell phone estimated to be worth $400.
Following an investigation Corozal Police have detained Nadir Medina and charged him with two counts of robbery.
