Screen_shot_2013-10-25_at_7.42.50_PMEight students will receive prizes for their brave participation in a one of kind video competition held by the dental department of the Northern Regional Hospital. The video competition was planned in line with the celebration of Dental Health Week celebrated under the theme; “Brush and Floss Everyday and Keep Cavities Away”. Four primary schools from the Orange Walk District participated in the competition as two of their students submitted their video. Out of the eight submissions, only three came out as the winners of the competition, however, everyone single participant won a prize. Selecting the winner was very difficult for the judges since all the videos were at par.

Annie Quan, Dental Assistant, Dental Department NRH

“We had a video competition for Dental Health week which is from the 21st to the 26th of October it was basically a short video submission here at the Orange Walk District from Chapels, St. Michaels, St Peter Anglican and Compassion School, the turnout was very good is quite amazing what these kids can do.  First prize is a laptop computer, second prize is beach-cruiser, third prize is school bag with school supplies, exercise books, things like that but nevertheless, everybody who participated is going to get a consolation prize which consists of a bag and orbit gum, sugar free orbit gum I might add, very healthy for the teeth, milk, toothbrush, tooth-past a little stuff just to let them know that we truly appreciate their work.”

The winners of the competition will be handed their prizes on Monday. We here at CTV3 News congratulate all students who participated in the competition. Keep up the good work.
