Belize_Police_Dept-BPDpolice_logoToday the case of Eric Gonzalez accused of the murder of Daniel Alberto Soto continued before Justice Herbert Lord in the northern session of the Supreme Court as this another witness took the oath and pledged to testify nothing but the truth.

Jaime Triminio was the first witness to be called to the stand today by Crown Counsels Sabita Maharaj and Linsbert Willis. Triminio’s testimony was based on the fact that the incident happened directly in front of him, by which he gave a vivid account of that night, Thursday 26th of February, 2009 when Soto was stabbed on the upper thigh. After rendering his testimony, Triminio was cross examined by Senior Counsel and defense attorney, Simeon Sampson.

At approximately one fifteen in the afternoon, another witness was called in.

Police Constable Jeffrey Williams, who was one of the responding officers to the 911 call on the day of the incident, was called up to the witness stand to present to the court what he observed on the aforementioned date of the incident. After his testimony was accepted, the case was further adjourned until Monday 4th of November 2013. We will keep following this story and bring you the details of the case as they unfold.
