bishopSeveral exemplary students from across Belize were recognized yesterdayby the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth at the Annual National Youth Awards held at the Bliss Institute for the Performing Arts in Belize City. The awards were to acknowledge those students who take on an active role in social development among their peers and community. Today we spoke to two of those outstanding student’s from the Orange Walk District who were among those awarded last night. They are no other than Luis Aguilar and Giovanni Wiltshire from Bishop Martin High School.

“To not to hide their talent and to show off what they have and to be actually have a positive mind and state in their future so that they can be successful in life, am feeling nervous but at the same time glad and I would like to thank the school and the people who always there for me.” 

 

This year’s honorees included Ian Yacab, a student of Mount Carmel High School who won an award for Art and Culture and Ricky Cunil, a high school student from Benque Viejo who was bestowed the Person Living with Diverse Abilities Award.
