Screen_Shot_2013-11-20_at_8.13.01_PMOver 150 Central Americans under the age of 16 are tonight waiting for their next game at the most anticipated Central America Under- Sixteen Football Tournament that reunites all six Central American countries namely Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Belize. The tournament kicked off on Monday with a match between El Salvador and Guatemala.

At the end of the match Guatemala recorded its first win as they won El Salvador 2 Nil. The second game was played between Costa Rica and Honduras which ended in favor of Costa Rica 2 to 1 and the final game of the night was the much awaited game by Belizeans when our very own baby Jaguars Team Belize played against Nicaragua. At the 20th minute of the game Belizeans roared in joy as Rogi Solórzano scored the first goal for Team Belize.

But that was not enough and at the 33rd minute Solorzano scored the second goal of the night. As the match continued, Anderson Treminio from Team Nicaragua scored a goal at the 67th minute. The game ended 2 to 1 in favor of Baby Jaguars.

Day two of the Central America Under- Sixteen Football Tournament continued yesterday at the Belmopan FFB Stadium.  The first match was played between Guatemala and Costa Rica where Costa Rican Jose Gomez and Luis Hernandez scored the winning goals for their team while Adel Lemus scored the only goal for Guatemala. The second game of the day was lined up between Nicaragua and Honduras. Nicaragua lost two nil.

In the game between the Baby Jaguars and El Salvador, Jose Melendez from El Salvador scored the first goal while Carlos Mendez scored the second goal of the game in the second half putting the score two nil. At the end of the 90th minute team El Salvador won its First match in the tournament.

The tournament stands as follows: Costa Rica is at the top of the table with 6 points and 4 goals in favor and 2 against. Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Belize have 3 points but with differences of goal average.

Guatemala and Honduras have 3 goals in favor and 1 goal against each, while El Salvador has 3 goals in favor and none against and finally Belize has 2 goals in favor and 1 against. Team Nicaragua is presently at the bottom of the table of position with zero points with 1 goal in favor and 4 against.

As we speak the Baby Jaguars are measuring their strength against Guatemala. That game started at 7:00pm.
