As we mentioned earlier in our newscast a meeting is scheduled between the BSCFA and BSI tomorrow. Reports are that one of the main items on the agenda will be to set a date for the closure of crop season. From what we understand while the BSCFA wants crop to be declared closed as of this Saturday because of the rainy season, BSI is asking for more time.

Damian Goff- Marketing Director BSI

“I am hoping that is not the case because as I said there is still some cane out there that can be brought in. I know that there are some cane farmers that are keen to still delver their cane. We are of the opinion that while the rainy season has started there is still the possibility that we can see a little improvement in the weather.”

alfredoAlfredo Ortega- Chairman BSCFA, COM

Usually crop closes at the end of June. But this year BSI is hoping that the BSCFA agrees to extend the crop season until the 3rd week of July.
