Four men have been charged for the New Hong Fua robbery which occurred on Tuesday evening. The store, located on Belize/Corozal Road was robbed by four men, one armed with a firearm. The four men walked out of the business with $1,400. Two expended shells were found on the scene from the shots fired within the business as one of the robbers shot salesman Adar Awe on his leg.
While the men tried to make good their escape two of them were detained by police as they ran out and one was shot by Police as they were apprehended. Two other individuals believed to be involved were detained on the Northern Highway as they headed north.
Today after an identification parade was held Gushani Wagner of an Orange Walk Town address and Germaine Belgrave, Jeffrey Flowers and Patrick Jones Jr., all of a Belize City address were charged for robbery. All four men pled not guilty to the charge as all claimed to have nothing to do with the robbery.
All four men asked the Magistrate to consider granting them bail but Magistrate Linden Flowers made it clear that the only way the men can get bail is through an attorney applying to the Supreme Court. All four were remanded to the Kolbe Correctional Facility until the 28th of July.
