After a national strike, a number of demands, several press conferences, and a whole lot of threats the new bus routes and schedules for the Northern Zone came into effect today. While it seems that bus owners here in Orange Walk decided to go with the flow and just accept the new routes and schedules, the same cannot be said for one bus operator in Corozal Town. CTV3 News understand that at around 4:00 this morning a few workers belonging to Gilharry Bus Line had a peaceful demonstration to show their discontent with the new schedules awarded to the company which has been in the transportation industry for many years. According to the owner of Gilharry Bus Line, Froylan Gilharry, workers showed their discontent by driving their buses around the Corozal Bus Terminal. Despite the fact that no roads were blocked he hopes that the message gets to those in authority.

From the onset of the bus crisis Government has been accused of using the age old technique of divide and conquer and if they did, it seemed to have worked. This morning instead of being backed up by members of the Belizean Bus Association Gilharry says he stood alone and no longer believes in the BBA.

As Gilharry mentioned he has sought legal advice and will fight for the reinstatement of his original routes and schedules through the Supreme Court.
