Belize_Police_Dept-BPDpolice_logoOrange walk police have charged one man for Drug Trafficking. The incident occurred on Thursday around 12pm while police were conducting patrols at San Estevan Village when their attention was drawn to a male person acting suspiciously.

As a result he stopped the unmarked police mobile and approached the male person and conducted a search on his person and found nothing incriminating.

Police then went to a motorcycle parked a short distance away and saw a blue Jansport bag which was searched in the presence of the male person and found inside a black plastic bag containing small foil packets which when opened contained green vegetable substance consistent with cannabis. The male person was escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station along with the suspected drugs which amounted to 120 grams.

The foil packets were counted which amounted to 140 grams and a larger foil pocket also containing suspected cannabis. It was placed inside a yellow manila envelope, sealed and labeled as exhibit.

Police then formally arrested and charged 40 year old Carmen Lino, Belizean Laborer of San Estevan Village, for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
