A 26 year old Honduran waitress of Palacio Dulce Bar located in the village of Ranchito, Corozal District, was discovered dead in her room yesterday. Police investigations have revealed trails of a case of overdose of an illicit substance. Corozal Police visited the Corozal Community Hospital where they observed the motionless body of Delma Cristelia Sosa Murillo.
Initial investigation reveals that Murillo was drinking heavily at the bar yesterday and about 3:00pm she began feeling bad and went into a room to rest. About 2 to 3 hours later, the owner of the bar, 33 year old Clara Luz Sagastume went to check on Murillo but the room door was locked from inside. Despite the fact that Sagastume knocked on the door several times she received no response.
After several attempts the door was finally pried open. Upon entering the room Sagastume found Murillo face down on the bed motionless. Efforts were made to revive Murillo by wetting her with water but to no avail. She was then rushed to the Corozal Community Hospital whereby she was pronounced dead on arrival.
After questioning the owner of the bar and co-workers, police visited the room of Murillo where a search was conducted for any signs of forced entry. None was found. But what police did find were transparent plastic bags with remnants of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.
The body of Murillo now lies at the morgue in Corozal Town awaiting a Post Mortem Examination. Police report that the Honduran Embassy has been informed of the incident.
