police_corozalA young couple was robbed of their belongings on Saturday night in Corozal Town. Seventeen year old Marieana Gilharry and twenty year old Adolfo Medina were walking on Second Street North Corozal Town around 8:30 in the night, when two men of dark complexion approached them. The men were on bicycles, had on warm caps and were dressed in black shirt and pants.

One of the men produced a knife and told the couple to hand over their belongings while the second pulled Gilharry’s gold chain from around her neck. Gilharry then handed over three gold rings, a bracelet, a red watch, and her brown purse that contained a ten dollar bill and her cellular phone. The total value of all items stolen stands at $547.00. The men also relieved Medina of his cellular phone.

According to the couple while they were being robbed by the two men a third person kept watch about twenty feet away. The suspects then rode off on their bicycles. The complainants described the individuals as slim built, tall and within their twenties. Police are investigating.
