Screen_Shot_2014-04-01_at_6.40.31_PMYesterday we told you about the unfortunate fall that led to the demise of 30 year old Asael Gomez, a resident of Guinea Grass Village in the Orange Walk District, whose badly decomposed body was found by a student at the Guinea Grass RC School’s latrine, shortly after classes begun.

While there were many rumors surrounding Gomez’s death, police pathologist Dr. Hugh Sanchez conducted an autopsy yesterday to confirm the cause of death. Sanchez certified that Gomez died as a result of “bronchoaspiration as a consequence of alcoholic stupor.”

As previously mentioned Gomez’s decomposed body was found inside of an out-house at located on the compound of the Guinea Grass Roman Catholic Primary School on Monday morning by an Infant two student who had gone to use the facility. Police say his wife had spoken with Gomez on Saturday night and was trying to get him home as he had been drinking, but he refused to go.
