Thousands of students sat the first two papers of the Primary School Examinations today across the country. Those papers are English Language one and two and Science. The examination was taken at various secondary institutions. This afternoon we caught up with some of the students as they exited the schools after long hours of concentrating on the exams.

From the look on their faces standard six students were more than happy to be out and over with the first two exam papers in the PSE. They quickly gathered into their small cliques and no doubt the discussions surrounded the exams.

While some students shied away from the camera, a few were more than happy to share what their experience was. Many felt the exams were rather easy.

Sophia Xia- Student

“I did not find any part difficult because they have all been taught before in standard four. I prepared a lot for today and that is why I was ready and I am excepting a good grade at the end.”

Emily Ma- Student

“I found it to be easy only that some parts I did not understand especially in the Science paper. I prepared a lot and I am expecting a good grade.”

Abner Ayala- Student

“The exams were easy, except for the English Paper two the narrative writing and letter writing I had trouble with. The Narrative was most difficult because I can’t write stories well and I couldn’t think of anything to write.”

In the same light, parts of the exam were a little challenging.

Jaime Castillo- Student

“It was easy and a little bit challenging especially the Science part because a lot of new things were introduced. I prepared but it was still challenging yet I know I will still get a good grade.”

Alberto Urbina- Student

“Language Arts was kind of hard but Science was easy. The multiple choice for the Language Arts was hard I think I found it hard because I was nervous.”

This is only the first part of the exams that these students will need to sit. The other two Mathematics and Social Studies are still pending. Some are confident and other not so much but remain hopeful.

“So now you have two more papers to take Math and Social Studies you ready for those.”

Braulio Crawford- Student

“I think I will be prepared for Social Studies but not sure about Math.”

For now the first leg is over. And after a first taste of the exams, Braulio Crawford has a word of advice for the standard four and five students.

“I would say for them to prepare from one time so they can do good in the exam when they come.”

In the north, 1742 students sat part one of the PSE.
