Screen_Shot_2014-04-08_at_7.42.16_PMYesterday we told you about the robbery that took place at Jing Jing store located in the Santa Rita area of Corozal Town. Tonight there are more details into the robbery. The proprietor of the store, 52 year old Chinese National, Hui Bang Chen, reported to authorities that around 2:50pm he was inside the store attending to customers when three male persons, two described as being of creole descent and the third of Hispanic descent, entered the business establishment.

The men concealed their identity by partly covering their faces with caps. Chen reported that one of the men had what appeared to be a hand gun which he pointed at him. While that took place the other criminals went over the counter and took out approximately $300.00 to $400.00 in cash from the drawer. One of the men attacked a customer and by the use of force stole his wallet containing $150.00 in cash and his I/D cards.

The three assailants then came out of the establishment and escaped on bicycles taking along with them a green in color 26'' beach cruiser valued at $300.00 belonging to one of the customers. The injuries received by the customer were classified as wounding. The store had surveillance and the footage was viewed by police. Since the incident, police have recovered the customer’s wallet containing his social security card and FMVL card along with the stolen bicycle. Five persons have been detained for questioning and Corozal Police are looking for (2) male persons from George Street, Belize City, who they believe can assist in the investigation.
