Belize_Police_Dept-BPDpolice_logoPolice Constable Irvin Jones is lucky to be alive tonight after being involved in a traffic accident on the Philip Goldson Highway near the Mameyal Curve on Saturday night.

CTV3 News understands that Jones was on his way back from the village of San Jose where he had just dropped off his two children and was returning home when he attempted to overtake a cane truck. Reports are that he lost control of his trooper causing him to run off the road. The vehicle ended in a ditch with its four wheels in the air.

Jones was rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital and was released a few hours after with minor abrasions on his hands and forehead.
