Screen_Shot_2014-07-21_at_8.42.47_PMAnd as to the alleged ring leader behind these crimes, Manuel Castillo, who has struck fear in the lives of many in the North since his disappearance, police say they are following all leads in hope of putting him behind bars.

Maria Novelo – Reporter

“Any leads as to the mastermind of these crimes, Mr. Manuel Castillo who we know has been placed on Interpol’s most wanted list.”

Joseph Myvette – Assistant Commissioner of Police

“That Is as far as we know that he has been placed on Interpol we are continuing our investigation but there is no new information as to where he might be.”

Police believe Castillo has absconded to either neighbouring Guatemala or Mexico. The 37 year old fugitive is wanted for the kidnapping and murder of Ramon Cervantes Sr. and the murder of Sonia Abac. It is of note that Castillo was deported from North Carolina in 2004 for drug offences and possession of weapon with intend to kill.

In 2007 he traveled back to the US where he was detained for illegal entry and spent 36 months in prison after which he was deported to Belize. Castillo is believed to be in the companion of his common-law-wife, 26 year old Avicela Duran.

He has a tattoo of Jesus Christ on the left arm and a tattoo of several images on the right arm. He is of Mestizo decent and is about 5 feet 9 inches in height. Police believe that Castillo is armed and dangerous.
