st_peters2CTV-3 has been offering regular reports on the performance of our Special Olympics Team which is currently representing the country at the World Games in Athens, Greece. The last time we checked in, the team had won its first game and drawn in its second game. And tonight we have great news because Team Belize won the bronze medal in football.

Since their arrival in Athens the team had been playing all out to make it to the finals and today we are proud to report that all the hard work paid off. Belizes team played their last game on Friday July 1st against Indonesia whom they beat 2-0. Both goals were scored by Darol Lambey.

With that win Team Belize won the bronze medal and also ranked 7th out of 35 teams. The victorious team will arrive in Belize on Saturday July 9th where they will be treated to a special lunch at Nahil Mayab Restaurant. Once again, we send congratulations to Team Belize.
