MS_13_PICS_collageWe first broke the story of a successful sting operation carried out by authorities in the City where it led police to detain the persons behind the latest extortion case reported in Orange Walk Town. Edwin Flores and his girlfriend are accused of attempting to blackmail Wilbert Valencia of eight thousand dollars.

The minor was detained at the Lord Ridge Cemetery where she was to collect the drop and she led police to Flores who was at a house on Newtown Barracks. Flores and 3 others have been charged for displaying gang insignia. Police confirmed yesterday that these four persons (Elvin Guiterrez, Jose Reyes, Edwin Flores and Francisco Rodriguez seen on the screen) are known affiliates of the transnational criminal gang, Mara Salvatrucha or MS-13.
