There is still much to be uncovered in the death of Danny Conorquie who was fatally wounded at the Caracol Mayan Site. He was buried on Sunday and there has been much controversy over the incident. Five days after his death, a video is released online by tourists who were at the site at the moment of the shooting. It appears the video was shot minutes after Conorquie was killed. The incident alone sent shock waves across the country as the initial reports were that he died at the hands of illegal Guatemalan Xateros. While there seems to be some confusion now as to what really happened or who pulled the trigger, the images that were captured by the visitors to the site are unnerving. According to the information we gathered, the video was shot by Austrian and Turkish expats as they visited the archaeological site. The video is edited and starts off with the introduction that reads, “Caracol is a Mayan archeological site remotely located near the Guatemalan Border in Belize. On September 25th 2014, we were there observing the site from the top of the pyramid.” The introduction was followed by the sounds of shots ringing. Here is a look at that video. We inform our viewers though that we have made some adjustments to it in respect to the Conorquie family and other Belizeans in the video.
The incident is still being investigated by the Belize Police Department.
