choco_cup_01After 14 Sundays of intense football, only four teams made it to the finals of the Tortilleria Chico’s Choco Cup which took place yesterday in the Corozal District. The grand finale was witnessed by a crowd of spectators who cheered for their favorite team.

“Well it was a lot of fun yesterday, it was the grand final for Tortillery Chicos Cup six a side, it has taken three months and it was a success final with a lot of people out here in support to their kids yesterday.”

At the end of the matches Mexico from San Andres took home fourth place while Holland from Santa Rita took third. And crowned as first place winners was Team Belize from San Pedro Village. Second place was taken by Brazil from San Antonio Village.

The end of the Tortilleria Chico’s Choco Cup though, only marks the beginning of another tournament says organizer and Chairman of San Andres Village Glenford Marvin.

“Well I have a plan to meet with the organizer of the Mundialito of Orange Walk to see how we can exchange something if we can go there or they can come to Corozal and we are working on that but the next plan we have for San Andres is that we will continue with a X’mas Cup, we are going to rest for two week, a X’mas Cup under thirteen for the children and we will have also under seventeen to kick off right there in San Andres for the end of October.”

Teams interested in participating in the tournament can contact Marvin at 663-7230 for more information.
