bmhsStudents of Bishop Martin High School have embarked on a project to give back to the community they say have contributed much to them as students and to the Institution they attend. A group of students stopped in at Louisiana Government School this afternoon to hold an afternoon of fun activities with the students as part of their initiative. Student Kevin Trejo told us more about the event.

“This is a service learning project we are just giving back to the community a little of what they have given to us.”


Dalila Ical – Reporter


“When you give back, what exactly, what are your guys bringing to these school children?”


Kevin Trejo – Student


“We are coming here to play with the students  so to have a little fun for distraction.”


Dalila Ical – Reporter


“So, different games and I see you guy have snacks as well?”


Kevin Trejo – Student


“Yeah, yes we are giving them cupcakes and big cola.”

“Is this something you doing with all schools?”


Kevin Trejo – Student


“For right now we just have planned this but surely we will do with more students and this is the first time we are doing this for these students.”

“As a student how do feel taking part in something like with younger children?”


Kevin Trejo – Student


“I feel good because I feel like am giving back to the community who has given us a lot, thank you.”


This is the first year the students at Bishop Martin High School have embarked on such a project and according to Trejo; it is something they want to keep doing on an annual basis.
