Rigo Vellos has once again been declared Mr. Belize this past Friday at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts where over 15 participants took center and showed off their sculpting physiques. This makes it three years in a row that Vellos takes the crown and he couldn’t be prouder.

“The feelings are goods feeling after putting the hard work, the strict dieting, it pays off at the end of the day and also it show that every year the competition gets harder and harder in the country and the other guys are stepping up their game also but it simply means Rigo Vellos also needs to improve so the feeling is good and I am happy that I won for the third time and like everything hard work pays off.”


Despite that this year’s bodybuilding competition was a bit more challenging, Vellos managed to excel in his category.

“Every year there are different categories we have the females, the body fitness the body figure, the bikini they also had the novice category which is for bodybuilders who are competing for the first time then the middle weight, light heavy weight which is the one I competed in the lighter weight all depending on your weight they put you on your weight class, the light heavy weight is the biggest weight class of the highest weight class in Belize that is where I participated and where I won that category and qualified for the finals and I had to face the other that won their category also for the bigger title Mr. Belize, I concords two categories, light heavy weight and the overall winner.”


While Vellos came on top as Mr. Belize, Clayton Greenidge placed 2nd and Oyinkro Okpobodo place 3rd. In the female category Gina Lovell placed 1st, Ann Lyn Apolonio placed 2nd and Josephine Gault placed 3rd.
