BUTANE_PRICESThere is some relief coming out of the Supplies Control Unit tonight; the price of a one hundred pound cylinder of butane has shown a major decrease. Effective tomorrow, the prices have been decreased by six dollars across the board. The new price for butane imported by Belize Gas Limited and Western Gas Company from PEMEX Mexico now sells at $109 in Belize City and Corozal, $111 in Belmopan/San Ignacio, $110 in Orange Walk, $112 in Benque, $113 in Dangriga and$114 in Punta Gorda. For LPG imported from Central America, the new price for a 100 pound cylinder in Belize City and Corozal is $106, Belmopan and San Ignacio sells for $108, Orange Walk at $107, Benque sells for $109, Dangriga at $110 and Punta Gorda at $111. Domestic price for LPG distributed by Belize Natural Energy Limited is $99 dollars. The Belize Bureau of Standards denotes the decrease of 6 dollars by a current production boom in this region and compared to 2013, LPG prices are $15 lower on the 100 pound cylinder.
