policeA minor traffic accident led to minor injuries for a family travelling towards the northern border yesterday afternoon. David Aldana reported to Police that at around 5:30pm he was driving his 1995 grey Izuzu vehicle on the Santa Rita Road heading towards the northern border. When he reached the first bump a white Toyota van driven by Calvin Rosalez travelling on the opposite direction made a right turn. As the van made to turn right Ana Iris Alvarez who was travelling behind the van in a Cherokee heading in the same direction tried to overtake the van and hit it on the right side. The Cherokee then collided into the Izuzu rodeo causing the front windshield to break and other damages to the front of the vehicle.

Travelling in the Izuzu were David Aldana who received a scrape and cut wound to his left hand, Ariola Aldana who complained of pain to her back, and their one year old baby who got a swollen shoulder.

Following Police investigations Ana Iris Alvarez has been charged for driving with an alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit. It is expected that more charges will follow as the investigation proceeds.
