bannerAn Orange Walk resident caught a burglar red-handed on Monday night. Nelsie Vasquez of Flamboyant Street told Police that on Monday at around 9:00pm she was asleep when she heard a commotion inside the living room adjacent to her bedroom. Upon making checks she noticed that there was a male person of clear complexion with medium long hair stealing items from the room.

Vasquez immediately alerted the neighbors and as the burglar tried to get out of the house he was ambushed. Inside his bag was a name brand sports cap valued at $75, a black X-box valued at $1,199, and a black and grey mortal combat game valued at $65.

As Police responded to the scene the burglar identified as Cesar Amilcar Quintero was detained and charged with burglary. He appeared in Court today where he pled not guilty. The prosecution objected to bail due to the nature of the crime, the fact that he was caught red handed and for the safety of the complainant.

As a result Cesar Amilcar Quintero was remanded to prison until the 27th of August.
