Screen_Shot_2014-12-12_at_7.54.34_PMConsumers of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) will get a slight relief for their Christmas baking and cooking since the price of butane per cylinder has dipped. The 5 dollars decrease is due to a current production boom in the region, a release from the Belize Bureau of Standards said today.

 

The new controlled price per 100 pound cylinder for LPG imported from Pemex Mexico for Belize City and Corozal stands at $104, Belmopan and San Ignacio costs $106, butane in Orange Walk sells for $105, while Dangriga and Punta Gorda are $108 and $109, respectively.


The controlled price per 100 pound cylinder for LPG imported by Belize Western Energy Limited, Southern Choice Butane, Zeta Gas and Gas Tomza Limited from Central America now  sells in Belize City and Corozal for $101, Belmopan and San Ignacio for $103, Orange Walk for $102, Dangriga for $105 and Punta Gorda for $106.


The bureau of standards report that the prices will come in effect on Saturday, December 13th.
