Screen_Shot_2014-12-24_at_6.04.10_PMThe month of December brings along the joy of Christmas, that time of the year when the entire world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.

It is all about giving, expecting nothing in return, or at least that’s the way it should be. And for Saint Francis Xavier Credit Union in Corozal, giving back to their membership at this time of the year is at the top of their to do list.

Today the financial institution paid tribute to their membership by hosting their second annual membership Christmas program with over a thousand children in attendance. Rafael Dominguez, General Manager of the credit union, shared with us the joy of today’s event.

Rafael Dominguez – General Manager

“We believe that in this time of the month we are here closing with this Christmas spirit and the Credit Union should have that spirit at least with our membership so today what we are doing is giving back to the community in the form of a gift in keeping our members, not only the children but also the adults.”

“So what are some of the activities that you all have scheduled out for today?”

Rafael Dominguez – General Manager

“Mainly what we have today is that we are giving up gifts and refreshments and here we are entertaining children with all these costumes and we have also invited the fat lady, the bee, the princess but at this present moment we are dealing with the piñata but earlier we had entertained he children with some dancing and also giving them some little treats and in a while we be having Santa Clause coming giving away more than a thousand toys along with the sweets.”

The initiative was born back in 2013 when the board of directors and the management and staff of the credit union decided to host the event as a form of appreciation to its membership for conducting business with the institution.
