logoYesterday we reported on the unfortunate death of 29 year old Henry Noh, a fisherman from the Village of Pathakan in the Corozal District who met his death while on a fishing trip with nine of his friends.

When we left you yesterday the Corozal Police Department was investigating if foul play was involved in Noh’s death.

Today we can tell you that foul play has been ruled out after a post mortem examination conducted in the presence of police officers by Dr. Loyden Ken and Dr. Roque Blanco certified the cause of death to be Asphyxia due to Inhalation of Fluids consistent with drowning.

For context, yesterday Noh and nine of his friends decided to go on a fishing trip at a lagoon located between the villages of Chunox and Sarteneja in the Corozal District. After speaking to Noh’s friends, police learnt that at around 10:00am he and two of the other men decided to swim across the lagoon. A short while after Noh was heard shouting for help and immediately after went under and did not resurface. An immediate search of the area led to Noh’s body which was found at the bottom of the lagoon.
