11425085_377818879090655_4932525933099081878_nThe Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports issued today the preliminary results of the 2015 Primary School Examination, PSE.

When it comes to student population a total of 7,325 candidates registered for the PSE of which 7,223 candidates actually sat all or part of the exam this year. PSE numbers for 2015 record a 3.0% decrease in the number of test candidates registered over 2014 with one hundred and sixteen candidates being absent for all or part of the exam.

But what we want to highlight tonight are the top performers. There were 26 this year and among them are students from Orange Walk and Corozal. First place was taken by Gabriel Hope, a student of Bernice Yorke in Belize City with a score of 386. Ranking in second with a score of 380 is Carrel Moralez from San Narciso Corozal. Ranking fourth with a score of 376 is Junyan He of Corozal Methodist. Ranking 22nd with a score of 369 is Ellin Ling of Saint Francis Xavier. Hector Lopez of La Inmaculada ranked 24th with a score of 368 while Nathalya Marin of Mary Hill R.C ranked 26th with a score of 367.
