11406769_480277305455991_7420182352255083792_nPolice have charge two of their own for what they now call the murder of eighteen year old Hilberto Sotz on Caye Caulker Monday evening. Those officers are Police Constable Nelson Nunez and Hallet king. Both officers were named from the time Sotz was killed but we had withheld the names since police had not issued a formal report or charged the men in connection to the incident. Both have been charged with murder. Meanwhile, the police continue to investigate the matter. So far the post mortem conducted on Sotz states that the teen died as a result of vascular shock. Interpretations of the cause of death on social media state that what this means is that he was beaten in the head and chest which eventually caused internal bleeding. It is reported that the entire formation on the island is under investigation due to the severity of the incident. Initial reports indicate that Sotz was detained for a burglary investigation on the island. Police state that around five Monday evening, Sotz was taken to a private room to be interviewed. They stated that Sotz started complaining of having chest pains and difficulty breathing and was subsequently taken to the polyclinic where he passed. When the news of his death spread, an angry mob gathered outside the building and a riot ensued sending police into high alert. The riot was broken around eleven in the night. Tonight a peace candle light vigil will be held on the island in memory of Hiblerto Sotz.
