noimageA Guatemalan National is tonight in police custody after Orange Walk Police found what they believe to be a Mayan artifact inside the apartment he occupies. Last night around 8:00 police searched the apartment located in the village of Trail Farm, Orange Walk Town, in the San Martin area and found a necklace made out of what is believed to be jade beads. Attached to the necklace is a jade head. Police have called in representatives of the Archeological Department to confirm if the item is indeed made out of jade. If this is the case the individual could be looking at jail time since it is against the law to be in possession of a Mayan artifact with a license from the archeological department.
