Belize-to-participate-in-TorontoThe Pan-American Games or Pan Am Games as it is also called is a major sporting event in the Americas featuring summer sports, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. The competition is held between athletes from nations of the Americas, every four years and it is governed by PASO, The Pan American Sport Organization.

This year Pan Am Games will be held in Toronto, Canada from July 10th to the 26TH and Belize will be among the 41 countries which will be competing in 36 different sporting events. These Games are the world’s third largest international multi-sport games.

Team Belize will travel to Toronto on Wednesday, July 8th.  The delegation will be headed by Chief of Mission, Allan Sharp. The contingent consists of triathlete Amed Figueroa; athletics delegate Deon Sutherland, and athletes Kaina Martinez and Mark Anderson who will both be doing the 100m. Triathlon takes place from the 11th to the 12th and Athletics will be held from the 21st to the 25th.
