Yesterday we told about the Mayor’s trip to Puerto Rico for a Mayors Conference that focused on decentralization and autonomy, among other local government related issues. And while we had him in our grasp, we asked him to elaborate on the ongoing Town maintenance works being carried out in specific areas…. Some of the works he says are being carried out by other area representatives unaffiliated with the council…. A gesture he says he welcomes since it will benefit all residents…

“We have not really had a heavy down pour of rain over the past few months because the heat has been very terrible but what we have been doing is working in the drainage on those low lying areas because that is crucial and we have to make sure that whenever we have the heavy rain the drains are properly flowing, we recently did the paving of the Mahogany and Sapodilla street we are now working on trying to see how we could get some work done on Guadalupe street while even though I know and I say this at the last interview that we understand that the caretaker for the Orange Walk East for the UDP are going around saying that they will be paving Guadalupe street and we welcome that and I just been informed today that Clarke will be getting its second coat being done through the Deputy Prime Ministers’ work initiative that he is doing in his division these things are beneficial to our community when the progress in being done and the street are being improve we welcome these things because at the end of the day all of us that will benefit.”
