heritageAnother bank in Belize is cut off from the Bank of America. According to reports, Heritage Bank International is losing its correspondence with the BOA as it continues its de-risking process. This follows remarks from officials at the Central Bank and even the Prime Minister Dean Barrow who said that any other banking institution would be cut off following termination of corresponding ties with the Belize Bank and Atlantic International Bank. Central Bank Governor Glen Ysaguirre conceded that financial institutions are under constant review and said that while he could not say if any other banks were at risk to lose their corresponding ties, there is always a possibility. He also said that some banks do business with more than one corresponding bank.
