A well-known Orange Walkeno that goes by the name of "Paraquat" was viciously attacked and left for dead by two men last night on Queen Victoria Avenue. From what we’ve been able to gather, Paraquat was defending another person whom these men picked upon. We are told that because he intervened, the men, who seemed under the influence of alcohol, took out there frustration on Paraquat hitting him several times to the head and face.
The injured man was then left for dead until about half hour later when a Good Samaritan checked on him and called the authorities. We are told that because Paraquat did not want to seek medical attention, fearing for injections, the police stated that they could not do anything for him if he does not do so voluntarily.
Shortly after, the same Good Samaritan picked him up and took him in his vehicle to the Northern Regional Hospital. The individual told us today that he observed several large gashes and flesh wounds on the victims head and face. From what he gathered from those on the site, the men, who are believed to be from Belize City, attacked Paraquat, threatened others and demanded for a girl who was eating to accompany them.
The men we are told, then walked towards the bus terminal where they reportedly boarded the bus to Belize City. According to police, Paraquat is in critical condition and was transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
