IMG_6978The Christmas season is officially here and since it is a special time for giving, the Castillo Alley Neighborhood Watch Group gathered this morning to give out gifts and provisions to the needy families within their community. The event took place around 8 a.m. and it was the second Christmas activity that the group has organized to give back to the public.

“We got some provisions from Belize City Precisely Belize Aggressor Three where my husband works and where we got two hundred dollars’ worth, the group has a little more than a year that we have organized and last year we went to a family at Black Water Creek and we donated different items.

The purpose of the group is to offer families an opportunity to celebrate the true meaning of the season.

“It feels exciting and actually when I was shopping for the gifts I felt so excited because it is the season of Christmas where we need to give and remember the birth of Jesus and where we got the greatest gift of him, salvation upon repentance and we can show a little bit of that giving spirit.”

The work of the Castillo Alley Neighbourhood Watch Group does not conclude here, as they have already planned to help another member of their community to build a shed for her home. The group has received a number of assistance and would like to thank their sponsors who contributed to the success of this event.
