Screen_Shot_2016-01-26_at_7.57.17_PMWhile conducting a mobile patrol in the village of San Jose Succotz in the Cayo District on Sunday, Benque Viejo Police observed twenty seven year old Javier Itza, Belizean labourer of Maya Street acting in a suspicious manner.

 

After Itza realized that authorities were in the area, he began to walk in the opposite direction; however, police had stopped Itza and informed him that a search will be conducted on him to search for any illegal drug or firearm. Itza immediately threw away a bag that was in his possession and ran.


Authorities caught up with him and after the bag was retrieved, Itza was escorted to the Benque Viejo Police Station. The bag that was recovered contained a total of 81 grams of Cannabis. Itza was arrested and charged for drug trafficking.
