Screen_Shot_2016-03-14_at_8.22.05_PMOsmar Sabido was again today before Judge Hubert Lord responding to the charge of Murder.

The case, which was scheduled to commence at 10:00 this morning was adjourned to 1:30 in the afternoon after defense attorney Oscar Selgado was not present for the morning session.


At 1:30 the case restarted with the prosecution calling its first witness for the day. Erla Alvarez, who lives next to the house where 21 year old Christie Carrasco died back in February of 2011 was called to the stand to recount her recollection of the incident that occurred at around 8:30 pm on the 28th of February.


Alvarez started her testimony by describing the horrific scream that called her attention and prompted her to go outside. She said when she stepped out of her house, quote “Osmar Sabido was pulling Christie by her hair and Christie was struggling to get away.” After recollecting the incident, Alvarez was questioned by defense attorney, Oscar Selgado, who asked if she had seen Osmar Sabido inflict any wounds to the deceased to which she responded “No”


The second witness who was called to the stand was Sharlette Flowers who also lives next to the house where the incident occurred. She testified that she also heard the very load scream but she only saw Christie running away from her then boyfriend, Osmar Sabido. The Prosecution then asked Flowers what was the state of Osmar Sabido after the incident had transpired and Flowers responded by staing quote “Sabido was very calm, just standing there; he was on his phone, until the police apprehended him.” Defense attorney Selgado later questioned the witness asking, If she was certain where the scream was coming from, and if she saw Sabido inflicting any wounds on Carrasco or if she saw him holding any objects in his hands, all of which Flowers answered “NO”


The case ended today at around 2:40 in the afternoon and is scheduled to restart tomorrow at 10:00 in the morning. Sabido is scheduled to take the stand tomorrow.
