topetenTripAdvisor, an American website company that provides reviews of travel-related content internationally and is considered as the largest travel site in the world, has released their list of top ten recommended destinations to visit within Central America. Among the list of acknowledgement, San Pedro Ambergris Caye and San Ignacio Town in Belize were ranked as number one and number seven respectively.

San Pedro, also known as ‘La Isla Bonita’, was categorized as number one on the list due to its gorgeous beaches and its profusion of dive shops that offer an assortment of recreational activities for tourists to enjoy. TripAdvisor also recommends travellers to visit Caye Caulker as it was classified as ‘less developed and more laid back with splendid swimming areas’.

San Ignacio, on the other hand, was acknowledged by TripAdvisor as, and we quote San Ignacio remains rustic, making it a great base for budget-friendly tropical adventure travel” End of quote. In the review it also stated that visitors can also travel up the Macal River or take a hike up the hills to get to the archaeological sites.

Positive reviews such as these create a positive impact as it contributes to the growth of our tourism industry which generates a large portion of income into our economy.

Apart from Belize’s recognition, the remaining destinations that make up part of the top ten include places located in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Guatemala, and Costa Rica.
