While the investigation is young…..all police have been able to establish is that on Thursday night Espinosa stayed behind at in his cane field to guard his cane truck which was experiencing mechanical difficulties. When family members lost communication with him they decided to visit the area and that’s when they found his body floating face down in the Rio Hondo about 3 miles away from the cane field. Espinosa's burnt Ford Ranger extended cab was discovered near the area that he was found dead.
Although no one has been detained for the murder of Gregorio Abel Espinoza and a motive is yet to be ascertained, police do have a person of interest who they believe can assist them in the investigation. Espinoza was laid to rest yesterday. The family remains mum about the killing of their loved one.
