Since the murder of Pastor Llewellyn Lucas on Friday and the detention of well-connected conman William Mason and four others, numerous reports have surfaced of who wine and dined with him and who all his acquaintances allegedly are.
And amongst that list, according to former Commander of the Gang Suppression Unit, Superintendent Mark Flowers, is Inspector Glenn Caliz the same man who has replaced Flowers as head of the Gang Suppression Unit.
Flowers, among other things, revealed yesterday that Caliz used to serve as personal security for Mason. But, says Flowers, while one man may have shot a few rounds at Mason’s shooting range at Outback Ranch, the body of the GSU did not.
Mark Flowers – Former Commandant GSU
“Let me tell you this GSU has no involvement in this individual absolutely, first of all not in my time, not before my time and certainly not up until today. Caliz may have been to his farm because Caliz was his bodyguard when he came to Belize according to what he (Mason) told me, I met Mason in two occasions, I was first introduced to Mason through a classmate of mine but the reason why I wanted to meet with Mason is because we had a report that was made to Russel Blackett, a business man in Belmopan gave him certain information about this swindling how Mason was able to sweeten out his way into the man’s coffers and had deprived the man a substantial amount of money, I know about that I have the communications still on my phone and it has to do me going and talking to Blackett and I told him I will get in there when he talked about how it is good to meet you and he said I use to have friends inside the GSU and he told me how and what he had got friend, he told me one person so if it is that there were others I don’t know.”
Reports are that Inspector Glenn Caliz has denied visiting Mason’s shooting range and ever serving as his personal security.
